Abdullah bin Abbas reported,

There were two men in Medina who used to dig graves. Abu Ubayda bin Jarra would dig for the people of Mecca, while Abu Talha would dig for the Ansar and prepare the side niche in the grave for them.When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed away, Abbas sent two men to fetch them, saying, "O Allah, choose what is best for Your Prophet." They found Abu Talha but could not find Abu Ubayda, so Abu Talha dug the grave for him and made the side niche.

عن ابن عباس قال

كان بالمدينة رجلان يحفران القبور أبو عبيدة بن الجراح يحفر لأهل مكة وأبو طلحة يحفر للأنصار ويلحد لهم قال فلما قبض رسول الله ﷺ بعث العباس رجلين إليهما فقال اللهم خر لنبيك فوجدوا أبا طلحة ولم يجدوا أبا عبيدة فحفر له ولحد
