Umm Salama bint Abu Umaya reported,

When the news of the death of Husayn bin Ali reached Umm Salama, she cursed the people of Iraq, saying, "They killed him. May Allah kill them. They deceived him and humiliated him. May Allah kill them.I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when Fatimah came to him one morning carrying a pot in which she had prepared for him a porridge, bringing it on a tray of hers until she placed it before him.He said to her, "Where is your cousin?"She replied, "He is at home."He said, "Go and call him, and bring me his two sons."So she came leading her two sons, each one by a hand, with Ali walking behind them, until they entered upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He seated the two boys on his lap, Ali sat to his right, and Fatimah sat to his left.Umm Salama said, "He pulled out from beneath me a Khaybar cloak that was a covering of ours on the bed in Medina. The Prophet ﷺ wrapped it around all of them. He took the two ends of the cloak in his left hand and raised his right hand toward his Lord , saying, 'O Allah, these are my family. Remove from them all impurity and purify them thoroughly. O Allah, these are the people of my household. Remove from them all impurity and purify them thoroughly. O Allah, these are the people of my household. Remove from them all impurity and purify them thoroughly.'I said, 'Messenger of Allah, am I not part of your family?'He replied, 'Yes indeed. Enter into the cloak.'"She said, "So I entered into the cloak after he had finished his supplication for his cousin Ali, his two grandsons, and his daughter Fatimah ."

حين جاء نعي الحسين بن علي لعنت أهل العراق فقالت قتلوه قتلهم الله غروه وذلوه قتلهم الله فإني رأيت رسول الله ﷺ جاءته فاطمة غدية ببرمة قد صنعت له فيها عصيدة تحمله في طبق لها حتى وضعتها بين يديه فقال لها أين ابن عمك قالت هو في البيت قال فاذهبي فادعيه وائتني بابنيه قالت فجاءت تقود ابنيها كل واحد منهما بيد وعلي يمشي في إثرهما حتى دخلوا على رسول الله ﷺ فأجلسهما في حجره وجلس علي عن يمينه وجلست فاطمة عن يساره قالت أم سلمة فاجتبذ من تحتي كساء خيبريا كان بساطا لنا على المنامة في المدينة فلفه النبي ﷺ عليهم جميعا فأخذ بشماله طرفي الكساء وألوى بيده اليمنى إلى ربه عز وجل قال اللهم أهلي أذهب عنهم الرجس وطهرهم تطهيرا اللهم أهل بيتي أذهب عنهم الرجس وطهرهم تطهيرا اللهم أهل بيتي أذهب عنهم الرجس وطهرهم تطهيرا قلت يا رسول الله ألست من أهلك قال بلى فادخلي في الكساء قالت فدخلت في الكساء بعدما قضى دعاءه لابن عمه علي وابنيه وابنته فاطمة رضي الله عنهم
