The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came in to visit Abu Salama, whose eyes had become fixed open. He closed them and said, "When the soul is taken, the sight follows it." Some of his family began to wail, so he said, "Do not invoke anything upon yourselves except good, for the angels say amen to whatever you say."Then he said, "Allah, forgive Abu Salama, raise his rank among the rightly guided, and be a successor to those he has left behind. Forgive us and him, Lord of the worlds. Allah, make his grave spacious for him and fill it with light."
حدثنا معاوية بن عمرو قال حدثنا أبو إسحاق يعني الفزاري عن خالد الحذاء عن أبي قلابة عن قبيصة بن ذؤيب
دخل رسول الله ﷺ على أبي سلمة وقد شق بصره فأغمضه ثم قال إن الروح إذا قبض تبعه البصر فضج ناس من أهله فقال لا تدعوا على أنفسكم إلا بخير فإن الملائكة يؤمنون على ما تقولون ثم قال اللهم اغفر لأبي سلمة وارفع درجته في المهديين واخلفه في عقبه في الغابرين واغفر لنا وله يا رب العالمين اللهم افسح في قبره ونور له فيه
