The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came in to me looking troubled. I thought it was from some pain, so I said, "Prophet of Allah, why do you look so troubled?"He replied, "Because of the seven dinars that came to us yesterday. We have ended the day with them still tucked in the corner of the bed."
حدثنا أبو الوليد حدثنا أبو عوانة عن عبد الملك يعني ابن عمير عن ربعي بن حراش
دخل علي رسول الله ﷺ وهو ساهم الوجه قالت فحسبت أن ذلك من وجع فقلت يا نبي الله ما لك ساهم الوجه قال من أجل الدنانير السبعة التي أتتنا أمس أمسينا وهي في خصم الفراش
Its isnad is sahih. It has been said that Rubai did not hear from Umm Salama, but I think he did in fact hear from her, for he heard from Ali, Umar, Abu Musa, and Ibn Masud, all of whom died before her. The hadith was narrated by Abu Yaala 12/447 no. 7017, and by Tabarani in Al-Kabir 23/327 no. 751, and Haythami attributed it to them in 10/238, saying, "Its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih." The meaning of "the molars chewing its tip" is [as stated].
