I used to keep people away from Ibn Abbas, and once I was absent for several days.He asked, "What kept you away?"I replied, "Fever."He said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Fever is from the heat of Hell, so cool it down with Zamzam water.'"

كنت أدفع الناس عن ابن عباس فاحتبست أياما فقال ما حبسك قلت الحمى قال إن رسول الله ﷺ قال الحمى من فيح جهنم فأبردوها بماء زمزم
Its isnad is sahih. Bukhari (6:238) narrated it briefly through Abu Amir Aqadi from Hammam, and said, "So cool it with water, or with Zamzam water" (Hammam was uncertain). Hafiz said in Fath al-Bari (10:147), "Those who held that the mention of Zamzam water is not a matter of the narrator's uncertainty have relied on this, and among those who took this view was Ibn Qayyim. But this has been challenged on the grounds that in Ahmad's narration from Affan from Hammam it reads, 'So cool it with Zamzam water,' with no uncertainty" (Hafiz means this narration). Nasai, Ibn Hibban, and Hakim likewise reported it through the narration of Affan.Abu Jamra is spelled with jim and ra, and he is Nasr bin Imran Dubai.
