The Messenger of Allah ﷺ addressed us and said, "People, the pilgrimage has been prescribed for you."Aqra bin Habis stood up and asked, "Every year, Messenger of Allah?"He replied, "Had I said yes, it would have become obligatory, and had it become obligatory, you would not have carried it out, nor would you have been able to. The pilgrimage is once. Whoever does more, it is voluntary."
Its isnad is sahih. It is a repetition of 2304 with this same isnad, but here in the two original manuscripts "Tayalisi" appears instead of "Wasiti," which is a clear error. Tayalisi is Sulayman bin Dawud, while Sulayman bin Kathir Abdi Wasiti was never known by the designation "Tayalisi." This error definitely comes from the copyists, for someone like Imam Ahmad would not make such a mistake, especially regarding the names of his own teachers. The meaning of this hadith will come again at 2741, narrated by Abu Dawud Tayalisi from Sharik from Simak. See also 2663.
