The Messenger of Allah ﷺ never sent Zayd bin Haritha out with an army except that he placed him in command over them, and had he outlived him, he would have appointed him as his successor.
وجدت في كتاب أبي حدثنا سعيد بن محمد الوراق قال حدثنا وائل بن داود عن البهي
ما بعث رسول الله ﷺ زيد بن حارثة في جيش قط إلا أمره عليهم ولو بقي بعده لاستخلفه
