When the people of Makkah sent ransom for their captives, Zaynab, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, sent some wealth to ransom Abu al-As bin Rabi. Among what she sent was a necklace of hers that had belonged to Khadijah, which Khadijah had given her when she was sent to live with Abu al-As as his bride.She said, "When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw the necklace, he was deeply moved and said, 'If you see fit to release her captive to her and return to her what belongs to her, then do so.'"They replied, "Yes, Messenger of Allah." So they released him and returned to her what was hers.

لما بعث أهل مكة في فداء أسراهم بعثت زينب بنت رسول الله ﷺ في فداء أبي العاص بن الربيع بمال وبعثت فيه بقلادة لها كانت لخديجة أدخلتها بها على أبي العاص حين بنى عليها قالت فلما رآها رسول الله ﷺ رق لها رقة شديدة وقال إن رأيتم أن تطلقوا لها أسيرها وتردوا عليها الذي لها فافعلوا فقالوا نعم يا رسول الله فأطلقوه وردوا عليها الذي لها
