He saw Abdullah bin Zubayr leading them in prayer, gesturing with his palms when he stood up, when he bowed, when he prostrated, and when he rose to stand again. He would stand and gesture with his hands.He said, "So I went to Ibn Abbas and said, 'I saw Ibn Zubayr performing a prayer the like of which I have never seen anyone perform,' and I described this gesturing to him."Ibn Abbas replied, "If you wish to see the prayer of the Prophet ﷺ, then follow the prayer of Ibn Zubayr."
حدثنا موسى بن داود قال حدثنا ابن لهيعة عن ابن هبيرة أن
أنه رأى عبد الله بن الزبير صلى بهم يشير بكفيه حين يقوم وحين يركع وحين يسجد وحين ينهض للقيام فيقوم فيشير بيديه قال فانطلقت إلى ابن عباس فقلت إني رأيت ابن الزبير يصلي صلاة لم أر أحدا يصليها فوصفت له هذه الإشارة فقال إن أحببت أن تنظر إلى صلاة النبي ﷺ فاقتد بصلاة ابن الزبير
