Hafsah and I were both fasting when some food was brought to us that we found tempting, so we ate from it. Then the Prophet ﷺ came in, and Hafsah hurried to speak before me, for she was truly her father's daughter.She said, "Messenger of Allah, we were fasting today, but some food was brought to us that we found tempting, so we ate from it."He replied, "Make up another day in its place."
حدثنا كثير بن هشام قال حدثنا جعفر بن برقان قال حدثنا الزهري عن عروة
كنت أنا وحفصة صائمتين فعرض لنا طعام اشتهيناه فأكلنا منه فجاء النبي ﷺ فبدرتني إليه حفصة وكانت بنت أبيها قالت يا رسول الله إنا كنا صائمتين اليوم فعرض لنا طعام اشتهيناه فأكلنا منه فقال اقضيا يوما آخر
