Muaza bint Abdullah Adawiya reported,

A woman questioned Ayesha, while I was present, about the Messenger of Allah's ﷺ practice of joining fasts continuously. Ayesha said to her, "Are you able to do as he did? He had been forgiven his past and future sins, and his deeds were extra acts of devotion for him."

حدثنا عبد الصمد قال حدثني أبي حدثنا يزيد يعني الرشك

سألت امرأة عائشة وأنا شاهدة عن وصل صيام رسول الله ﷺ فقالت لها أتعملين كعمله فإنه قد كان غفر له ما تقدم من ذنبه وما تأخر وكان عمله نافلة له
