The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was eating with six of his companions when a hungry Arabi came and finished the food in two mouthfuls. The Prophet ﷺ said, "If he had mentioned the name of Allah, it would have been enough for all of you. So when one of you eats, let him mention the name of Allah. If he forgets to mention Allah's name at the beginning, let him say, 'In the name of Allah at its beginning and its end.'"
حدثنا روح قال حدثنا هشام بن أبي عبد الله عن بديل عن عبد الله بن عبيد بن عمير الليثي عن امرأة منهم يقال لها أم كلثوم
أن رسول الله ﷺ كان يأكل في ستة من أصحابه فجاء أعرابي جائع فأكل بلقمتين فقال النبي ﷺ أما إنه لو ذكر اسم الله لكفاكم فإذا أكل أحدكم فليذكر اسم الله فإن نسي أن يسمي الله في أوله فليقل بسم الله في أوله وآخره
