The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to seek refuge during his prayer from debt and from sin. Someone asked, "Messenger of Allah, how often you seek refuge from debt!"He replied, "When a man falls into debt, he speaks and lies, and he makes promises and breaks them."
حدثنا روح حدثنا صالح بن أبي الأخضر قال حدثنا ابن شهاب عن عروة
أن رسول الله ﷺ كان يتعوذ في صلاته من المغرم والمأثم فقال قائل يا رسول الله ما أكثر ما تعوذ من المغرم فقال إن الرجل إذا غرم حدث فكذب ووعد فأخلف
