I asked, "Does Allah not say, 'And he certainly saw him in the clear horizon' [Takwir 81:23] and 'And he certainly saw him in another descent' [Najm 53:13]?"She replied, "I am the first of this nation to ask the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about these verses. He said, 'That was only Jibreel. He never saw him in the form in which he was created except on two occasions. He saw him descending from the heaven to the earth, the immensity of his form filling what lies between the sky and the ground.'"
حدثنا محمد بن أبي عدي عن داود عن الشعبي عن مسروق قال كنت عند
قلت أليس الله يقول {ولقد رآه بالأفق المبين} {ولقد رآه نزلة أخرى} قالت أنا أول هذه الأمة سأل رسول الله ﷺ عنهما فقال إنما ذاك جبريل لم يره في صورته التي خلق عليها إلا مرتين رآه منهبطا من السماء إلى الأرض سادا عظم خلقه ما بين السماء والأرض
