Ayesha came to stay with Umm Talha al-Talahat and saw her daughters praying without head coverings. Ayesha said, "I see that your daughters have reached puberty," or, "some of them have."Umm Talha replied, "Indeed."Ayesha said, "None of your girls who has reached puberty should pray without wearing a head covering. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ once entered upon me while a young girl was with me. He tossed his waist-wrap to me and said, 'Tear this in two, give one half to this girl and the other half to the girl with Umm Salama, for I see that they have both reached puberty,' or, 'I see that she has reached puberty.'"

أن عائشة نزلت على أم طلحة الطلحات فرأت بناتها يصلين بغير خمر فقالت إني لأرى بناتك قد حضن أو حاض بعضهن قالت أجل قالت فلا تصلين جارية منهن وقد حاضت إلا وعليها خمار فإن رسول الله ﷺ دخل علي وعندي فتاة فألقى إلي حقوه فقال شقيه بين هذه وبين الفتاة التي عند أم سلمة فإني لا أراهما إلا قد حاضتا أو لا أراها إلا قد حاضت
