Ayesha reported,

Some Jews came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Death be upon you, Abu Qasim."He replied, "And upon you."Ayesha said, "I responded, 'And upon you be death and disgrace.'"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Ayesha, do not be coarse."She said, "Messenger of Allah, did you not hear what they said? They said, 'Death be upon you.'"He replied, "Did I not return to them what they said? I said, 'And upon you.'"Ibn Numayr said in the narration of Ayesha, "Indeed Allah does not love coarseness or vulgarity."Ibn Numayr added in his version that this verse was then revealed, "And when they come to you, they greet you with that with which Allah does not greet you" [Mujadilah 58:8], until the end of the verse.

حدثنا أبو معاوية وابن نمير قالا حدثنا الأعمش عن مسلم عن مسروق

عن عائشة قالت

أتى النبي ﷺ ناس من اليهود فقالوا السام عليك يا أبا القاسم فقال وعليكم قالت عائشة فقلت وعليكم السام والذام فقال رسول الله ﷺ يا عائشة لا تكوني فاحشة قالت فقلت يا رسول الله أما سمعت ما قالوا السام عليك قال أليس قد رددت عليهم الذي قالوا قلت وعليكم قال ابن نمير يعني في حديث عائشة إن الله عز وجل لا يحب الفحش ولا التفحش وقال ابن نمير في حديثه فنزلت هذه الآية {وإذا جاءوك حيوك بما لم يحيك به الله} حتى فرغ
