Ayesha reported that when death drew near to the Prophet ﷺ, he began to throw a cloak of his over his face, and when he felt suffocated by it, he would uncover his face and say, "May Allah curse the Jews and the Christians, for they took the graves of their prophets as places of worship."Ayesha said, "He was warning against doing what they had done."
قال الزهري وأخبرني عبيد الله بن عبد الله قال
أن النبي ﷺ حين نزل به جعل يلقي خميصة له على وجهه فإذا اغتم كشفها عن وجهه وهو يقول لعنة الله على اليهود والنصارى اتخذوا قبور أنبيائهم مساجد قال تقول عائشة يحذر مثل الذي صنعوا
