My maternal aunt Umm Hufayd presented the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with ghee, milk, and some lizards as a gift. As for the lizards, the Prophet ﷺ spat them out.Khalid bin Walid asked him, "Do you find them repulsive, Messenger of Allah?"He replied, "Yes."The Prophet ﷺ then took the milk and drank from it. Afterward he said to Ibn Abbas, who was on his right, "The drink is rightfully yours next, but will you permit me to give it to your uncle?"Ibn Abbas said, I replied, "No, by Allah, I will not give precedence to anyone over what remains of your drink."He said, So I took it and drank, then handed it to him.The Prophet ﷺ then said, "I know of no drink that suffices in place of food except milk. So whoever among you drinks it should say, 'O Allah, bless it for us and give us more of it.' And whoever eats food should say, 'O Allah, bless it for us and feed us with what is better than it.'"
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر قال حدثنا شعبة قال سمعت علي بن زيد قال سمعت عمر بن حرملة قال سمعت
أهدت خالتي أم حفيد إلى رسول الله ﷺ سمنا ولبنا وأضبا فأما الأضب فإن النبي ﷺ تفل عليها فقال له خالد بن الوليد قذرته يا رسول الله قال نعم أو أجل وأخذ النبي ﷺ اللبن فشرب منه ثم قال لابن عباس وهو عن يمينه أما إن الشربة لك ولكن أتأذن أن أسقي عمك فقال ابن عباس قلت لا والله ما أنا بمؤثر على سؤرك أحدا قال فأخذته فشربت ثم أعطيته ثم قال النبي ﷺ ما أعلم شرابا يجزئ عن الطعام غير اللبن فمن شربه منكم فليقل اللهم بارك لنا فيه وزدنا منه ومن طعم طعاما فليقل اللهم بارك لنا فيه وأطعمنا خيرا منه
