The Prophet ﷺ, when he rose during the night, would pray two short rakahs.
حدثنا يحيى عن أبي حرة قال حدثنا الحسن عن سعد بن هشام
أن النبي ﷺ كان إذا قام من الليل صلى ركعتين يتجوز فيهما
Its isnad is sahih. Abu Hurrah is Wasil bin Abdul-Rahman, a trustworthy narrator whose hadith is found in Muslim. He sometimes practiced tadlis, but here he explicitly said "he narrated to us." The hadith was mentioned previously at 25101.
