I said to Miqsam, "May I pray witr as three rakats and then go out to the prayer, fearing that I might miss it?"He replied, "There is no witr except as five or seven."I mentioned this to Yahya bin Jazzar and Mujahid, and they said to me, "Ask him on whose authority."So I asked him, and he said, "On the authority of a trustworthy source, from Ayesha and Maymun, from the Prophet ﷺ."
حدثنا يحيى عن شعبة قال حدثني
قلت لمقسم أوتر بثلاث ثم أخرج إلى الصلاة مخافة أن تفوتني قال لا وتر إلا بخمس أو سبع قال فذكرت ذلك ليحيى بن الجزار ومجاهد فقالا لي سله عمن فقلت له فقال عن الثقة عن عائشة وميمونة عن النبي ﷺ
