I went with my mother and my aunt to visit Ayesha, and one of them asked her, "How did you used to perform the ritual bath?"Ayesha replied, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would perform ablution as he did for prayer, then pour water over his head three times. As for us, we pour water over our heads five times because of our braids."
