Ayesha sent word, along with the other wives of the Prophet ﷺ, to the family of Saad bin Abu Waqqas asking that they bring his body past them through the mosque so that the wives of the Prophet ﷺ could pray over him. The people objected to this. When this was mentioned to Ayesha, she said, "How astonishing that people object to this! By Allah, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed the funeral prayer for Sahl bin Bayda nowhere but in the mosque."
