Ayesha reported,

The wives of the Prophet ﷺ gathered together and sent Fatimah to the Prophet ﷺ. They said to her, "Tell him that his wives ask him by Allah for fairness in the matter of the daughter of Abu Quhafa."She went in to see the Prophet ﷺ while he was with Ayesha under her woolen cloak. She said to him, "Your wives have sent me to you, and they ask you by Allah for fairness in the matter of the daughter of Abu Quhafa."The Prophet ﷺ said to her, "Do you love me?"She replied, "Yes."He said, "Then love her."So she returned to them and told them what he had said.They said, "You have accomplished nothing. Go back to him."She said, "By Allah, I will never go back to him about her."Zuhri said, she was truly the daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.So they sent Zaynab bint Jahsh. Ayesha said, she was the one among the wives of the Prophet ﷺ who used to compete with me in his esteem.Zaynab said, "Your wives have sent me to you, and they ask you by Allah for fairness in the matter of the daughter of Abu Quhafa." Then she turned on me and began to insult me.I kept watching the Prophet ﷺ, looking at his eyes to see whether he would permit me to defend myself, but he did not speak. She continued insulting me until I thought he would not mind if I retorted, so I turned on her, and it did not take long before I silenced her.The Prophet ﷺ then said to her, "She is indeed the daughter of Abu Bakr."Ayesha said, I never saw a woman better than Zaynab, more generous in charity, more devoted to maintaining family ties, and more willing to give of herself in every act that brings one closer to Allah , apart from a sharp temper she had, from which she would quickly return.

عن عائشة قالت

اجتمعن أزواج النبي ﷺ فأرسلن فاطمة إلى النبي ﷺ فقلن لها قولي له إن نساءك ينشدنك العدل في ابنة أبي قحافة قالت فدخلت على النبي ﷺ وهو مع عائشة في مرطها فقالت له إن نساءك أرسلنني إليك وهن ينشدنك العدل في ابنة أبي قحافة فقال لها النبي ﷺ أتحبيني قالت نعم قال فأحبيها فرجعت إليهن فأخبرتهن ما قال لها فقلن إنك لم تصنعي شيئا فارجعي إليه فقالت والله لا أرجع إليه فيها أبدا قال الزهري وكانت ابنة رسول الله ﷺ حقا فأرسلن زينب بنت جحش قالت عائشة هي التي كانت تساميني من أزواج النبي ﷺ قالت إن أزواجك أرسلنني إليك وهن ينشدنك العدل في ابنة أبي قحافة قالت ثم أقبلت علي تشتمني فجعلت أراقب النبي ﷺ وأنظر إلى طرفه هل يأذن لي في أن أنتصر منها فلم يتكلم قالت فشتمتني حتى ظننت أنه لا يكره أن أنتصر منها فاستقبلتها فلم ألبث أن أفحمتها قالت فقال لها النبي ﷺ إنها ابنة أبي بكر قالت عائشة ولم أر امرأة خيرا منها وأكثر صدقة وأوصل للرحم وأبذل لنفسها في كل شيء يتقرب به إلى الله عز وجل من زينب ما عدا سورة من غرب حد كان فيها توشك منها الفيئة
