I asked Ayesha how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to fast.She replied, "He would fast until we said he would never break his fast, and he would go without fasting until we said he would never fast. I never saw him fast more in any month than in Shaban. He used to fast all of Shaban except a little. In fact, he would fast all of Shaban."

سألت عائشة كيف كان رسول الله ﷺ يصوم قالت كان يصوم حتى نقول لا يفطر ويفطر حتى نقول لا يصوم لم أره في شهر أكثر صياما منه في شعبان كان يصوم شعبان كله إلا قليلا بل كان يصوم شعبان كله
