Do not clothe your women in silk, for I heard Umar relate from the Prophet ﷺ that he said, "Whoever wears silk in this world will not wear it in the Hereafter."Abdullah bin Zubayr added, on his own account, "And whoever does not wear it in the Hereafter will not enter Paradise, for Allah the Exalted said, "and their garments therein will be of silk" [Hajj 22:23]."
حدثنا يحيى عن شعبة حدثني أبو ذبيان سمعت
لا تلبسوا نساءكم الحرير فإني سمعت عمر يحدث يقول عن النبي ﷺ أنه قال من لبس الحرير في الدنيا لم يلبسه في الآخرة وقال عبد الله بن الزبير من عنده ومن لم يلبسه في الآخرة لم يدخل الجنة قال الله تعالى {ولباسهم فيها حرير}
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Abu Dhibyan is Khalifah bin Kaab Tamimi, and he is trustworthy. Dhibyan is with a kasrah on the dotted dhal, though a dammah is also permissible, and both readings are established in Sahih Bukhari 7:150 of the Sultaniyyah printing, 10:243 of Fath al-Bari. In Khulasah, Dhibyan is vocalized like "mashy dhib," but this is anomalous.The hadith was narrated by Bukhari, and also by Muslim 1:152, Nasai 2:297, and Dulabi in al-Kuna 1:171, all of them through the route of Shubah.
