While I was with her, a man who had been flogged for drinking wine passed by her door. I heard the noise of the people and she asked, "What is this?"I replied, "A man was caught drunk from wine and was flogged."She said, "Glory be to Allah. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'A drinker is not a believer at the moment he drinks,' meaning wine, 'and a fornicator is not a believer at the moment he fornicates, and a thief is not a believer at the moment he steals, and a plunderer who carries off valuable plunder while people raise their eyes toward him is not a believer at that moment. So beware, beware.'"

بينما أنا عندها إذ مر رجل قد ضرب في خمر على بابها فسمعت حس الناس فقالت أي شيء هذا قلت رجل أخذ سكرانا من خمر فضرب فقالت سبحان الله سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول لا يشرب الشارب حين يشرب وهو مؤمن يعني الخمر ولا يزني الزاني حين يزني وهو مؤمن ولا يسرق السارق حين يسرق وهو مؤمن ولا ينتهب منتهب نهبة ذات شرف يرفع الناس إليه فيها رءوسهم وهو مؤمن فإياكم وإياكم
