Some meat from charity had been given to Barirah, and she presented some of it as a gift to the Prophet ﷺ. He was told, "This is from the charity meat."He replied, "For her it is charity, but for us it is a gift."
حدثنا عفان قال حدثنا حماد عن حميد عن عبد الله بن أبي عتبة
أنه كان تصدق على بريرة من لحم الصدقة فأهدت إلى النبي ﷺ فقيل له إنه من لحم الصدقة فقال إنه لها صدقة ولنا هدية
Its isnad is sahih. Abdullah bin Abu Utbah Basri is the freedman of Anas bin Malik, and he is trustworthy, his hadith is in Muslim. The hadith was mentioned previously at 24069.
