Are you not amazed at Abu Hurairah? He came and sat beside my chamber narrating from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, making sure I could hear him. I was performing my voluntary prayer at the time, and he got up and left before I could finish. Had I caught him, I would have corrected him, for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not rattle off hadith the way you people do.
حدثنا علي بن إسحاق قال أخبرنا عبد الله قال أخبرنا يونس عن الزهري قال حدثني عروة
ألا يعجبك أبو هريرة جاء فجلس إلى جانب حجرتي يحدث عن رسول الله ﷺ يسمعني ذلك وكنت أسبح فقام قبل أن أقضي سبحتي ولو أدركته لرددت عليه أن رسول الله ﷺ لم يكن يسرد الحديث كسردكم
Its isnad is sahih. Bukhari narrated it, 6/567, no. 3568, in Fath al-Bari, in the Book of Virtues, and Muslim, 4/1940, no. 2493, in the Virtues of the Companions, and Tirmidhi, 5/60, no. 3639, in the Book of Virtues, and he graded it hasan, and Abu Dawud, 3/320, no. 3654, in the Book of Knowledge, and Humaydi, 1/120, no. 247.
