Ayesha reported,

The Arab reinforcements crowded around the Messenger of Allah ﷺ until they nearly suffocated him. The Muhajirun rose to clear a space around him until he stood at the threshold of Ayesha's door, but they pressed in upon him so closely that his cloak slipped from his shoulders into their hands. He leapt onto the threshold, entered, and said, "O Allah, curse them."Ayesha said, "Messenger of Allah, the people are doomed."He replied, "By no means, by Allah, Bint Abu Bakr. I have made a binding condition with my Lord from which there is no turning back. I said, 'I am only a human being. I am vexed by what vexes human beings. So whichever believer I have lashed out against in haste, make that an expiation for him.'"

عائشة قالت

إن أمداد العرب كثروا على رسول الله ﷺ حتى غموه وقام إليه المهاجرون يفرجون دونه حتى قام على عتبة عائشة فرهقوه فأسلم رداءه في أيديهم ووثب على العتبة فدخل وقال اللهم العنهم فقالت عائشة يا رسول الله هلك القوم فقال كلا والله يا بنت أبي بكر لقد اشترطت على ربي عز وجل شرطا لا خلف له فقلت إنما أنا بشر أضيق بما يضيق به البشر فأي المؤمنين بدرت إليه مني بادرة فاجعلها له كفارة
