Abdullah bin Abbas reported,

A group of Jews came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "Abu al-Qasim, tell us about certain matters we will ask you about, which only a prophet would know."Among the things they asked him was, "Which food did Israil forbid for himself before the Torah was revealed?"He said, "I adjure you by Allah, who revealed the Torah to Musa, do you not know that Israil, that is Yaqub , fell gravely ill, and his sickness was prolonged, so he made a vow to Allah that if Allah cured him of his illness, he would forbid himself his most beloved drink and his most beloved food? His most beloved food was the flesh of camels, and his most beloved drink was their milk."They said, "By Allah, yes."

قال عبد الله بن عباس

حضرت عصابة من اليهود رسول الله ﷺ فقالوا يا أبا القاسم حدثنا عن خلال نسألك عنهن لا يعلمهن إلا نبي فكان فيما سألوه أي الطعام حرم إسرائيل على نفسه قبل أن تنزل التوراة قال فأنشدكم بالله الذي أنزل التوراة على موسى هل تعلمون أن إسرائيل يعقوب عليه السلام مرض مرضا شديدا فطال سقمه فنذر لله نذرا لئن شفاه الله من سقمه ليحرمن أحب الشراب إليه وأحب الطعام إليه فكان أحب الطعام إليه لحمان الإبل وأحب الشراب إليه ألبانها فقالوا اللهم نعم
