Ayesha reported,

Ayesha reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was bewitched, so much so that it would seem to him that he had done something when in fact he had not done it.Then one day, while I was watching him, he made a supplication, then he said, "I sense that Allah عز وجل has answered me concerning the matter I asked Him about. Two men came to me. One sat at my head and the other at my feet. One of them asked the other, 'What ails this man?' The other replied, 'He has been bewitched.' He asked, 'Who bewitched him?' He replied, 'Labid bin al-Asam.' He asked, 'Using what?' He replied, 'Using a comb, the hair caught in it, and the dried sheath of a male date-palm flower.' He asked, 'Where is it?' He replied, 'In the well of Dhu Arwan.'"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then went out to the well, and when he returned, he told Ayesha about it. He said, "Its palm trees were as though they were the heads of devils, and its water was as though it were the infusion of henna."I said, "Messenger of Allah, why do you not bring it out and show it to the people?"He replied, "As for me, Allah عز وجل has cured me, and I was reluctant to stir up evil against the people because of it."
