The Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed the farewell tawaf at the end of his day, after praying Dhuhr. He then returned to Mina and remained there for the nights of the days of Tashreeq. He would throw the pebbles at the jamrah after the sun had passed its zenith, casting seven pebbles at each jamrah and saying takbeer with every pebble. He would pause at the first jamrah and at the second, standing for a long time and supplicating humbly. After throwing the third, he would not pause there.

أفاض رسول الله ﷺ من آخر يومه حين صلى الظهر ثم رجع إلى منى فمكث بها ليالي أيام التشريق يرمي الجمرة إذا زالت الشمس كل جمرة بسبع حصيات يكبر مع كل حصاة ويقف عند الأولى وعند الثانية فيطيل القيام ويتضرع ويرمي الثالثة لا يقف عندها
