When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ arrived in Medina, both Abu Bakr and Bilal were stricken with fever.Whenever the fever overtook Abu Bakr, he would recite, "Every man is greeted by his family in the morning, yet death is closer to him than the strap of his sandal."And whenever the fever left Bilal, he would chant aloud, "Would that I knew whether I shall spend a night again in a valley with idhkhir grass and jalil plants around me. Shall I ever come down to the waters of Majannah, and shall Shamah and Tufayl ever appear before me again?"Then he said, "Allah, curse Utba bin Rabia and Umaya bin Khalaf, just as they drove us out of Mecca."

لما قدم رسول الله ﷺ المدينة وعك أبو بكر وبلال فكان أبو بكر إذا أخذته الحمى قال كل امرئ مصبح في أهله والموت أدنى من شراك نعله وكان بلال إذا أقلع عنه تغنى فقال ألا ليت شعري هل أبيتن ليلة بواد وحولي إذخر وجليل وهل أردن يوما مياه مجنة وهل يبدون لي شامة وطفيل اللهم اخز عتبة بن ربيعة وأمية بن خلف كما أخرجونا من مكة
