When Saad died and his funeral procession was brought, Ayesha asked that it pass by her so she could pray for him. The bier was carried through the mosque, and she prayed for him there. Some people objected to this, so she said, "How quick people are to speak. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ only prayed over Ibn Bayda in the mosque."
حدثنا يونس حدثنا فليح عن صالح بن عجلان عن عباد بن عبد الله بن الزبير
لما توفي سعد وأتي بجنازته أمرت به عائشة أن يمر به عليها فشق به في المسجد فدعت له فأنكر ذلك عليها فقالت ما أسرع الناس إلى القول ما صلى رسول الله ﷺ على ابن بيضاء إلا في المسجد
Its isnad is sahih. Salih bin Ajlan is trustworthy and his hadith is found in the Sunan works. Fulayh bin Sulayman is also trustworthy and his hadith is found among the Group (al-Jamaah).The hadith was narrated by Muslim 2/668 no. 973, Abu Dawud 3/207 no. 3189, Tirmidhi 3/342 no. 1033 who graded it hasan, Nasai 4/68 no. 1967, and Ibn Majah 1/486 no. 1518, all of them in the chapters on funerals.
