The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed away at a time when we had at last had our fill of the two black things, water and dates.
حدثنا إسحاق حدثنا داود يعني العطار عن منصور بن عبد الرحمن عن أمه
توفي رسول الله ﷺ حين شبعنا من الأسودين الماء والتمر
Its isnad is sahih. Dawud the perfume seller is Ibn Abdul-Rahman, trustworthy, his hadith is accepted by all the collectors (al-jamaa), and Mansur bin Abdul-Rahman al-Hajabi al-Makki is trustworthy, his hadith is in Sahihayn, and his mother Safiya bint Shayba had a sighting of the Prophet, and her hadith is accepted by all the collectors (al-jamaa).The hadith was narrated by Bukhari in Afal al-Ibad no. 45, Abu Dawud 2/67 no. 1437 in the chapter on prayer, Tirmidhi 5/183 no. 2924, who said, hasan gharib, Nasai 1/199 no. 404 in the chapter on ghusl, and Ibn Khuzayma 1/128 no. 259.
