The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered that the skins of dead animals be put to use once they have been tanned.
حدثنا إسحاق قال أخبرني مالك عن يزيد بن عبد الله بن قسيط عن محمد بن عبد الرحمن بن ثوبان عن أمه
أن رسول الله ﷺ أمر أن ينتفع بجلود الميتة إذا دبغت
Its isnad is sahih. Bukhari narrated it, 4/413, no. 2221, in Fath al-Bari, in the chapter on business transactions, and Muslim, 1/276, no. 363, in the chapter on menstruation, and Abu Dawud, 5/66, no. 4124, and Tirmidhi, 4/220, no. 1727, both in the chapter on clothing.
