Ayesha reported,

When the Prophet ﷺ arrived in Madinah, his companions fell ill. Abu Bakr, Amir bin Fuhayra (the freedman of Abu Bakr), and Bilal all became sick. Ayesha sought the Prophet's ﷺ permission to visit them, and he granted it.She asked Abu Bakr, "How are you feeling?"He replied, "Every man rises in the morning among his family, while death is closer to him than the strap of his sandal."Then she asked Amir, who said, "I have tasted death before actually tasting it. Truly, the coward meets his doom from above."She asked Bilal, who said, "Oh, would that I knew whether I shall ever again spend a night in the valley of Makkah with idhkhir and jalil grass around me."She came to the Prophet ﷺ and told him what they had said. He looked up to the sky and said, "O Allah, make Madinah beloved to us as you made Makkah beloved, or even more so. O Allah, bless its sa and its mudd for us, and transfer its fever to Mahyaa," which is al-Juhfah, as they claim.

حدثنا يونس حدثنا ليث عن يزيد يعني ابن أبي حبيب عن أبي بكر بن إسحاق بن يسار عن عبد الله بن عروة عن عروة

عن عائشة قالت

لما قدم النبي ﷺ المدينة اشتكى أصحابه واشتكى أبو بكر وعامر بن فهيرة مولى أبي بكر وبلال فاستأذنت عائشة النبي ﷺ في عيادتهم فأذن لها فقالت لأبي بكر كيف تجدك فقال كل امرئ مصبح في أهله والموت أدنى من شراك نعله وسألت عامرا فقال إني وجدت الموت قبل ذوقه إن الجبان حتفه من فوقه وسألت بلالا فقال يا ليت شعري هل أبيتن ليلة بفج وحولي إذخر وجليل فأتت النبي ﷺ فأخبرته بقولهم فنظر إلى السماء وقال اللهم حبب إلينا المدينة كما حببت إلينا مكة وأشد اللهم بارك لنا في صاعها وفي مدها وانقل وباءها إلى مهيعة وهي الجحفة كما زعموا
