Ayesha reported,

Aisha reported that whenever the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded them to do something within their capacity, they would say, "Messenger of Allah, we are not like you. Allah has forgiven you your past and future sins."She said that he would then become angry, until the anger was visible on his face.

أن رسول الله ﷺ كان إذا أمرهم بما يطيقون من العمل يقولون يا رسول الله إنا لسنا كهيئتك إن الله عز وجل قد غفر لك ما تقدم من ذنبك وما تأخر قالت فيغضب حتى يعرف الغضب في وجهه
