The Messenger of Allah ﷺ bought some food from a Jewish man on credit and gave him his shield as collateral.
حدثنا أبو معاوية قال حدثنا الأعمش عن إبراهيم عن الأسود
اشترى رسول الله ﷺ من يهودي طعاما نسيئة فأعطاه درعا له رهنا
Its isnad is sahih. Bukhari reported it in 4/302 no. 2068, in the chapter on business transactions, and Muslim in 3/1226 no. 1603, in the chapter on sharecropping, and Tirmidhi in 3/519 no. 1214, from Ibn Abbas, and he said, hasan sahih, and Nasai in 7/288 no. 4610, and Ibn Majah in 2/815 no. 2439, all of them in the chapter on business transactions.
