Ibn Umar heard, when Rafi bin Khadij died, that the weeping of the living over the dead causes torment to the dead.So I went to Amra and mentioned this to her. She reported that Ayesha said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ only said about a Jewish woman, 'You are weeping over her while she is being tormented.'" Then she recited, "And no bearer of burdens shall bear the burden of another" [Anam 6:164].
