Rubai said, Zayd bin Khalid sent me to Abu Juhaym al-Ansari to ask him, "What did you hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say about someone who passes in front of a person praying?"Abu Juhaym replied, "I heard him say, 'For him to stand in his place would be better for him than to pass in front of the one praying.'"I do not know whether he said forty years, forty months, or forty days.
حدثنا عبد الرزاق: أخبرنا مالك عن أبي النضر،
أرسلني زيد بن خالد إلى أبي جهيم الأنصاري أسأله: ما سمعت من رسول الله ﷺ يقول فيمن يمر بين يدي المصلي؟ قال: سمعته يقول: لأن يقوم في مقامه، خير له من أن يمر بين يدي المصلي. فلا أدري قال: أربعين سنة، أو أربعين شهرا، أو أربعين يوما.
