Zayd bin Khalid sent word to Ubayy.Abdul-Rahman said, Zayd bin Khalid sent me to Abu Juhaym al-Ansari to ask, "What did you hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say about a man passing in front of another man while he is praying?"Abu Juhaym replied, "I heard him say, 'If any of you knew what he incurs by passing in front of a man while he is praying, standing still for forty would be better for him than that.'" I do not know whether he said forty years, forty days, or forty months.
حدثنا وكيع وعبد الرحمن قالا: حدثنا سفيان عن سالم أبي النضر،
أن زيد بن خالد أرسل إلى أبي قال عبد الرحمن: بعثني زيد بن خالد إلى أبي جهيم الأنصاري: ما سمعت من رسول الله ﷺ يقول في الرجل يمر بين يدي الرجل وهو يصلي؟ قال: سمعته يقول: لو يعلم أحدكم ما له في أن يمر بين يدي الرجل وهو يصلي، كان لأن يقف أربعين - لا أدري: عاما، أو يوما، أو شهرا - خيرا له من ذلك.
