The Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed the funeral prayer over a deceased person, and I memorized from his prayer over him, "O Allah, forgive him and have mercy on him, wash him with water and snow, and cleanse him of his sins as a white garment is cleansed of filth."
حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن مهدي عن معاوية عن عبد الرحمن بن جبير عن أبيه
صلى رسول الله ﷺ على ميت قال ففهمت من صلاته عليه اللهم اغفر له وارحمه واغسله بالماء والثلج ونقه من الخطايا كما نقيت الثوب الأبيض من الدنس
