I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ perform the funeral prayer over a deceased person, and I understood from his prayer over him, "O Allah, forgive him, have mercy on him, grant him well-being and pardon him, honor his place of arrival, expand his place of entry, wash him with water, snow, and hail, and cleanse him of his sins as a white garment is cleansed of filth. Replace his home with a better home, his family with a better family, and his spouse with a better spouse. Admit him into Paradise, save him from the Fire, and protect him from the punishment of the grave."
