The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded me not to add the second call (tathweeb) to any of the prayers except the Fajr prayer.Abu Ahmad said in his version of the hadith, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me, "When you give the adhan, do not add the tathweeb."
Its isnad is hasan, on account of Abu Israil Mulai, whose name was Ismail bin Khalifa. It has been said that Abdul-Rahman Ibn Abu Layla did not hear from Bilal. But his hearing from him is established beyond dispute, for he is an early figure. The hadith was narrated by Tirmidhi, 1/387, no. 198. There has been discussion regarding Abu Israil's hearing from Hakam, and in the wording of Abu Ahmad Zubayri he stated explicitly that he had heard it directly. It is also found in Ibn Majah, 1/237, no. 715, and in Bayhaqi, 2/424.
