A man had a son born to him during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He brought the boy to the Prophet ﷺ, who took hold of the skin of the child's face and prayed that he be blessed. A hair then sprouted on his forehead in the shape of a bow. The boy grew up, and when the time of the Khawarij came, he became fond of them, and the hair fell from his forehead. His father seized him, shackled him, and confined him, fearing that he would join them.We came to him and admonished him, saying among other things, "Do you not see that the blessing of the supplication of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ has departed from your forehead?"We kept urging him until he abandoned their views. Allah then restored the hair to his forehead afterward, and he repented.
حدثنا يونس وعفان قالا حدثنا حماد بن سلمة عن علي بن زيد
أن رجلا ولد له غلام على عهد رسول الله ﷺ فأتى النبي ﷺ فأخذ ببشرة وجهه ودعا له بالبركة قال فنبتت شعرة في جبهته كهيئة القوس وشب الغلام فلما كان زمن الخوارج أحبهم فسقطت الشعرة عن جبهته فأخذه أبوه فقيده وحبسه مخافة أن يلحق بهم قال فدخلنا عليه فوعظناه وقلنا له فيما نقول ألم تر أن بركة دعوة رسول الله ﷺ قد وقعت عن جبهتك فما زلنا به حتى رجع عن رأيهم فرد الله عليه الشعرة بعد في جبهته وتاب
