While we were travelling with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he heard people asking, "Which deeds are best, Messenger of Allah?"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "Faith in Allah and His Messenger, struggle in the path of Allah, and an accepted pilgrimage."Then he heard a voice calling out in the valley, "I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "And I too bear witness, and I bear witness that no one bears this testimony except that he is freed from polytheism."Abdullah said, "And I heard it from Harun."
حدثنا هارون بن معروف حدثنا ابن وهب حدثنا عمرو بن الحارث عن سعيد بن أبي هلال أن يحيى بن عبد الرحمن حدثه عن عون بن عبد الله
بينما نحن نسير مع رسول الله ﷺ إذ سمع القوم وهم يقولون أي الأعمال أفضل يا رسول الله فقال رسول الله ﷺ إيمان بالله ورسوله وجهاد في سبيل الله وحج مبرور ثم سمع نداء في الوادي يقول أشهد أن لا إله إلا الله وأن محمدا رسول الله فقال رسول الله ﷺ وأنا أشهد وأشهد أن لا يشهد بها أحد إلا برئ من الشرك قال عبد الله وسمعته أنا من هارون
