There was something wrong with my eyesight, so I sent word to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "I would like you to come to my house and pray in it, so that I may take that spot as a place of prayer."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came, along with those of his companions who wished to join him. He prayed in my house while his companions talked among themselves, mentioning the hypocrites and the trouble they suffered from them. They laid most of the blame on Malik bin Dukhayshin, and they wished that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would invoke Allah against him and that some harm would befall him.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Does he not bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and that I am the Messenger of Allah?"They said, "Messenger of Allah, he says that, but it is not in his heart."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "No one bears witness that there is no god but Allah and that I am the Messenger of Allah and then is consumed by the Fire," or he said, "and then the Fire touches him."Then I kept him there for a meat and flour dish we had prepared for him. The people of the valley, meaning the people of the neighborhood, heard that he was there and came flocking to him until the house was full. One man asked, "Where is Malik bin Dukhshun?" And sometimes the narrator said Dukhayshin.
حدثنا عبد الرزاق حدثنا معمر عن الزهري حدثني محمود بن الربيع عن عتبان بن مالك قال أتيت النبي ﷺ فقلت فذكر نحوه قال ثم حبسته على خزير لنا صنعناه له فسمع به أهل الوادي يعني أهل الدار فثابوا إليه حتى امتلأ البيت فقال رجل أين مالك بن الدخشن قال وربما قال الدخيشن
