He embraced Islam, but his wife refused to do so. She came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "My daughter," and she was still nursing or about that age.Rafi said, "My daughter."The Prophet ﷺ said to him, "Sit on one side," and he said to her, "Sit on the other side." Then he placed the little girl between them and said, "Call her."She leaned toward her mother. The Prophet ﷺ said, "O Allah, guide her." She then leaned toward her father, and he took her.

أنه أسلم وأبت امرأته أن تسلم فأتت النبي ﷺ فقالت ابنتي وهي فطيم أو شبهه وقال رافع ابنتي فقال له النبي ﷺ اقعد ناحية وقال لها اقعدي ناحية فأقعد الصبية بينهما ثم قال ادعواها فمالت إلى أمها فقال النبي ﷺ اللهم اهدها فمالت إلى أبيها فأخذها
Its isnad is sahih. Imam Ahmad mentions the differences among the narrators regarding the isnad, so he cites it here through a completely different route, and all of them are reliable narrators. Abdul-Hameed bin Jafar bin Abdullah bin Hakam bin Rafi is reliable, his hadith is found in Muslim, and his father is likewise reliable. His father's grandfather was a companion, and the hadith is like the one before it.
