Muawiya bin Suwayd reported,

I slapped a servant belonging to us, so my father told him, "Take retaliation."Then my father said, "We, the Banu Muqarrin, were seven brothers with only one servant girl. One of us slapped her, so the Prophet ﷺ said, 'Free her.'It was said to him, 'They have no servant other than her.'He said, 'Let her serve them, and when they no longer need her, let them set her free.'"

حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن مهدي عن سفيان عن سلمة يعني ابن كهيل

عن معاوية بن سويد قال

لطمت مولى لنا فقال له أبي اقتص ثم قال كنا معشر بني مقرن سبعة ليس لنا خادم إلا واحدة فلطمها أحدنا فقال النبي ﷺ أعتقوها فقيل له ليس لهم خادم غيرها قال لتخدمنهم فإذا استغنوا عنها فليعتقوها
